Deterioration risk of dryland earthen heritage sites facing future climatic uncertainty
Conservation strategies for earthen heritage sites need to be adapted to future climate conditions as the risk of environmentally-driven deterioration increases. Heritage sites in certain regions, such as dryland are especially affected by changed climate conditions. By evaluating different climate scenarios where different conservation strategies are applied, the most effective strategies are being determined. The test results suggest that the deterioration risk is being reduced by increasing the coverage of vegetation.
